Why mentoring is important?
After my ADHD diagnosis the one thing I’d have appreciated more than anything wasn’t coaching, or talking to more clinical professionals. Rather I wanted to know that I was not alone.
I had thousands of questions, things I wanted to understand and to make sense of.
That wasn’t something that was available to me as far as I could see whereever I looked.
Like you, I spent countless hours – hyperfixating, reading blogs, websites, looking at what was said online. Yet that caused me more confusion.
I should have remembered….
My sons were both diagnosed with Autism aged 4 (there is 18 months between them) after that I’d hyperfixated on learning everything I could about Autism, then as we learned that ADHD may be a thing as well, I starting learning about that as well. And I had hundreds of phone calls with other people about their children and helping them understand Autism and ADHD for them.
I was mentoring people, every week. I just called it helping.
How can I help you?
If you have the same kind of questions as I do about your ADHD or Autism, I am the person who has been there. I’ve lived through it, been there and have spoken to so many people and in helping them I’ve learned what worked for them as well as for me. So, when you need to ask me a question, the chances are I’ve spoken about it before. That means I can share those experiences with you and in turn, they may help you.
